The 6 Berkshire Grammar Schools are highly sought after. Our 11 Plus tuition has helped pupils gain admission into Grammar schools in Reading and Slough grammar schools. There are 2 grammar schools in Reading — Kendrick school and Reading school, and one “bilateral” school – Reading Girls’ School . There are 4 grammar schools in Slough, which operate as the Slough consortium for admissions.

Grammar Schools in Reading
There are two Grammar schools are in Reading – Kendrick School and Reading School, and one “bilateral” school – Reading Girls’ School.
Kendrick School for Girls, Reading
Kendrick school for girls have now changed their examination provider from CEM to GL Assessment for the 11+ exam in September 2023 and beyond. The tests will take place on Saturday 16th September 2023 at Kendrick School, in either the morning or the afternoon.

What is the exam format for Kendrick school?
Pupils will sit two exam papers, with questions covering a combination of verbal and non-verbal reasoning, English and mathematics.
All marking and standardisation will be carried out by the exam provider. All questions are multiple choice format and answers will be chosen on a separate sheet.

Reading School for Boys, Reading
Reading school administer their own 11+ exam by FSCE and would take place at the school on one day in September. The Entrance Test consists of 3 elements: English, Maths and Creative Writing. A familiarisation paper is available and more information on Admission policies are on the Reading School website.

The four Grammar schools in Slough – Upton Court Grammar School, Langley Grammar School, Herschel Grammar School and St. Bernard’s Catholic Grammar School – operate a consortium for Admissions.
Pupils who may apply for admission into more tham one of the Grammars schools in the consortium, need only to sit the same exam for scores to be considered for these schools.

The Slough Consortium of Grammar Schools has contracted with GL Assessment as the test provider for the 11+ examinations to be held in September 2023, 2024 and 2025.
